I quite enjoy these little windows into the minds of the wild assortment of folk we follow. I'm sure we all end up looking deranged to some people, and maybe get the odd nod of approval if we're lucky.

Post the last 4 albums you listened to.

For book 8 now we wander ever onwards, through the woods and up to Withered Hill, by David Barnett.

After the mind bending experience of Annihilation, book 7 was The Reddening by Adam L G Nevill. A brutal and blood-drenched jaunt along the coast of Devon.

Just bought these incredible pictures from the amazing jenbuckleyart.com. There are lots of outstanding pieces of art on there, but money and wall space have limited me to just these (for now).

Starve Acre. You dark, intricate, subtle and disturbing beauty. Magical stuff. Next up, book 6, a little Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer.

I thought that last one looked familiar. This was used on the cover of the album "A Feast on Sorrow" by URNE. Amazing photos.

The Ritual is complete! That was a hell of a trip. For Book 5 let's take a relaxed stroll to the lovely rural idyll of "Starve Acre" by Andrew Michael Hurley.

Did H.R. Giger get inspiration for the design of the Xenomorph while walking atop The Roaches in Staffordshire? Entirely plausible, right?

Having seen many people's 2024 book lists I decided to pull my finger out and get back to reading actual physical books this year. Book 1 down: "Between Two Fires" by Christopher Buehlman. Anyone have any good books on the go?

A few more photos from the majestic Delamere Forest, shrouded in mist as it was always meant to be.

Just had a wonderful few hours wandering through Delamere Forest in the mist. The waters of Blakemere Moss looked like something from another world, with the water and sky both enveloped in a perfectly uniform sea of mist.

If you appreciate the heavier side of music - new album just out that kicks a fair amount of ass. Caldera, by Pillar of Light

2024 recap according to YouTube Music. I would say melancholy rather than weepy, and I'm a bit surprised to see Elden Ring in there but this mostly checks out. Surprised no System of a Down.

Listening to this episode reminded me of taking this photo across Doxey Pool in the most atmospheric conditions imaginable. This is one of a number of bodies of water claimed to be the home of Jenny Greenteeth. She wasn't in on this occasion.
