There should be a website -- updated in real time -- where, if you're writing a sermon, or a blog post, or an article; you type in the name of a Christian leader or musician or author and it tells you if it's still safe to quote that person.

What if the mark of the beast that the Apostle John saw while he was in exile on Patmos was actually a QR code?

It's easy to get caught up in the mentality of the reviewers who post videos of themselves unboxing premium, esoteric, deluxe Bible editions; and forget that the best Bible for some people might be a softcover with the back cover partially torn off.

It's only the third week of September. Plenty of time still to change your church culture and ditch the whole shoebox thing this year.

Remember that fun '60s song, "I Love the Flower Girl" aka "The Rain, the Park and Other Things" by The Cowsills? Shortly after, they released this little toe-tapper: "The Prophecy of Daniel and John the Divine (Six-Six-Six)" which amazingly made it to #75 on the charts. youtu.be/uLKPFWj6-TQ

March, 2011 -- Pastor Dave Stone at Southeast Christian Church (led today by Kyle Idleman) announces the church is debt-free and in symbolically burning the mortgage, accidentally sets fire to his sermon notes for that morning.

(Not really, but it would have made a great story.)

An interesting sidebar to last night's national newscast on CBC Television: A Canadian reporter, traveling on a Jordanian airplane, is not allowed to film aerial shots of the landscape in Gaza, because of restrictions imposed by Israel. Now read that sentence again slowly.

If all of the relationships you have with people in your church are limited to the context of task-related weekly service and special projects, you need to ask yourself if you really have Christian friends, or if you're all just serving in the same social club.

Good that CBC-TV News in Canada didn't get the thumbnails for these stories reversed.

Took 60 seconds to try to help someone searching for some specific worship lyrics. Google AI started compiling a list of all the songs the line is NOT in. So helpful.

Did something go wrong in manufacturing?
This Christian giftware company ships it anyway.

P. Graham Dunn – Crap for the Lord
Take a good look at the cross in that picture. The print is off-center. There’s a deep saw-cut where the lower part of the beam of the cross bar would intersect if this was made of two pieces…

Today after church I got asked this, "When Jesus died, did he die for like, everybody, or just those of us who accept him?"
The person asking this is 13-years-old, has been coming to church for just 8 months, with no previous experience with Christianity. Interesting, huh?

If I decided to self-publish, there are only two questions I would ask of prospective service providers:
What is your relationship to Amazon?
What is your relationship to Ingram?
Self-publishing need not be 180° removed from landing a deal with a major publishing house if you've got good options.

This is Jesus’ military parade.
This is how Christ became King.

There is the way of the world—
And there is the way of Jesus.
There is the way of the Beast—
And there is the way of the Lamb.

Today I'm finding myself again struck by the massive disconnect I experience each time I uncover someone who has started a blog or website because they want to reach the internet world, but insist on using the King James Version as their base text. I had no clue what one particular verse meant.

I thought it was a bit extreme that InterVarsity Press was charging $16.99 US / $24.99 CA for a 120-page, pocket-sized edition of Francis Schaeffer's Escape from Reason, but Alex Blount, IVP Senior Sales Manager wrote me back today and made it clear they are a business, using the word twice. .../2

You cannot use dubious eschatological theories about the modern nation-state of Israel concocted from a dispensationalist reading of apocalyptic texts to jettison the clear teachings of Jesus as found in the Sermon on the Mount.

That other, very similar social media platform has logged me out on all my devices. Spent 15 minutes last night trying to remember a password I created 14 years ago. Finally had to give up. Another strong argument for using this one instead.

I'm currently reading A Devil Named Lucifer, and as he did with A God Named Josh (a book about Jesus) author Jared Brock leaves no stone of research unturned on a subject rarely discussed in such detail.
