Formerly passionately opposed to Brexit, now trying not to obsess about political developments which I can’t influence. Worried about Climate Change. Interested in Philosophy & the Arts. Royal Leamington Spa Bach Choir. Language Games. Real Tennis.
I share you sentiments about Bluesky, I recommend telling anyone who insults you on it to go back to X where they belong. People such as yourself who have sizeable followings on that platform who have stopped contributing content to it should be congratulated and those who persist with it shamed.

Thanks. Much appreciated.🙏

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. The theoretical physics is well beyond me, but even I, with no grounding in physics or maths beyond basic GCSE, can see the validity of some of your criticisms. I’ll listen with more circumspection in future. I’d be grateful if you can recommend an alternative.

You’re not telling me I should dislike Curt are you? I imagine he’s just trying to drum up clicks, just like any other media operator. I’ve never even heard of Witten, so I really don’t care one way or the other, though I’m glad to hear that, whoever he was, Penrose generally got along with him.

If the Republicans refused to impeach Bondi then it would be clear that they are enabling the cover-up.
November 20, 2025 at 9:52 AM
Exactly. Why are so few people talking about this option? I said, indite Bondi, I meant to say, impeach Bondi!

Why are the American people not calling for Pam Bondi to be indited?
AI would appear to suggest that she has a case to answer.

If Pam Bondi blocks the release of the Epstein files on the grounds of a confection investigation, isn’t the answer to indite her?

Here’s what ChatGPT has to say about the demographics of Spectator readers, so I suspect the problem is not so much their lack of intelligence as the volume of unchallenged comforting misinformation to which they expose themselves.

👍 The world’s Agora promised by Twitter has turned into the world’s bully pit, and it’s sad to see similar behaviour increasing on BlueSky. We could do with some good old fashioned public information films - or snappy instagram posts - on how to behave on social media.
November 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM
So you think it would be better if the readers of the Spectator were left to enjoy the usual blandishments from commentators such as Douglas Murray and Rod Liddell without fear of contradiction?
November 4, 2025 at 10:44 AM
Presumably in writing for the Spectator @legalmusings.bsky.social hopes he might persuade some of its readers to take a more sensible approach to the ECHR. It’s odd to unfollow him for that. Do you believe it’s wrong to converse with people who disagree with you?

Reform with a small r, yes, but with a large R, definitely no. (Which, for the benefit of those who prefer to respond without taking the trouble to read the article, is its whole point.)

Thanks for saving me the bother and general unpleasantness of listening to the slimy old fraud.

The clues’s in the name. Contributors to the project were already of the view that the judiciary are an unwelcome obstacle to Executive power when they started.

Starmer’s unpopularity is due to his continuation with the communications strategy that won the General Election: not saying anything that might upset anybody apart from the Left. That approach is wholly unsuited to Government. A Prime Minister must lead, not follow. Starmer should replace McSweeney

Kier Starmer should not resign. He should fire Morgan McSweeney.
