I think that's the key for streaming services: There is so much room for interactive features, but they should be simple, recognizable, and easily ignored (or opted-out of). Live Q&A, polls, voting, watching with others, reactions, etc. That's where it's at.

Post-CNN+, I've been talking and thinking a lot about interactive experiences within streaming services just because they are so few and far between. What we had at CNN was probably the most aggressive I've seen, and it wasn't in any way revolutionary or unique.

Placing it within the service allows you to validate the interactions at an account (and payment method) level, which aids in mitigating safety concerns.

Getting the functionality of live interaction within the TV remote experience was an uphill battle for me with CNN+, as there wasn't really any buy-in to be found (beyond my own hopes and dreams, ha). But I think it makes a ton of sense.

Unlike what Trump and the Republicans are doing to red states, the people of California will choose if the state goes down this path. I hope we do.

It may be too late, but Democrat governors have to rise to the moment, and try to beat the Republicans at their own game, so that we have some hope of stemming the rise of authoritarianism in this country.

Trump is not normal. This is not a normal time. To treat him as normal, as just like any other president, is to play into his hands.
