And the gag about being a jester-king was done at a time Trump was known for creeping on girls and young women. The lede going into the 2016 Republican primaries w/r/t/ Trump should have been his actions (inc. Epstein) against girls NOT his being a bombastic reality-show wrestling heel.

As I have commented back during his run for re-election against Dole, I would have trusted him for house-sitting my kids (even the high school girls) over any Republican they could name but not to keep from flirting or wooing any of the adult women in the family

😆

Bill Clinton's Mommy issues (raised by mother and maternal grandparents as father died when before Bill was born) does explain quite a bit. He certainly has a type, and child-like isn't it.

Shades of Pres. Bush II marching into Afghanistan to liberate women there.

Compare and Contrast how the media does the "Where there's Smoke, There's Fire!" dance with anything the Republican media system dreams up regarding any liberal politician, much less the Clintons.

Plus there were not enough outside of his circle that cared either.

The media's shrug of "Well, that [criming behavior] is just Trump being Trump. What can one do?" helped Trump beyond even Page-3, tabloid, kayfabe stenography of Trump's actions.

Maybe.

But one also has to remember both that COVID impacted election because it boosted mail-in ballots as a knock-on AND Trump was talking up to his base how voting was rigged, 'so why vote?'

Republicans used up all the kerning to trash the memos Dan Rather used when he reported on Dubya Bush being AWOL (twice: from his National Guard duties, then from the political campaign he was detailed to do) during the Vietnam War

Imagine my complete unsurprise if either or both are prominent in the Epstein files.

And Hillary.

I admit that I will never understand 'journalists' that consider reporting news secondary to getting info for that next "tell-all" book.

One reason I consider Woodward's journalism cred for Watergate to be long expired is his pivot from investigating current news to keeping news for later books.

When one attributes something to Nietzsche, a citation is commonly used. Not an ass-pull.

Not an expert on Nietzsche, but the closest I could find is the opinion that ugly people have ugly philosophies possibly from 'Twilight of Idols' in his criticism of Socrates and possibly against nihilism.

I will admit to being an outlier given that I read computer code for entertainment and self-study archaic Japanese and Mittel Hoch Deutsch to read

I can see functionally illiterate. I can see dyslexia bad enough to keep from reading. I will even admit that there are writers whose prose is so dull to make even a reading even a 3 para sample a tedious effort.

But for the most, I have little sympathy for those that refuse to read.

A snotling, please. Orcs/Orks have more character.

Alignment goes out the window anyways when certain people always play Chaotic-Evil even if their character is supposed to be an oath-bound Lawful-Good paladin. And complain if they get penalized for doing so.

But #notAllMunchkins

Agreed. Some of the fandoms I've been pulled into are baffling given my age and other interests, but that's how it goes.

Fandom has it's pitfalls, but it's generally driven by raw passion.

And the know-how includes all the information that is available to the insurance company. The 'perfect information' of game theory.
