"Of the 991 history exam questions set in 2023, 357 featured a named individual, but only 31 were women – and nine of those were references to Elizabeth I or her reign."

Dr Natasha R. Hodgson of Nottingham Trent University writes this week in The Conversation bit.ly/49ZqTiq
Women are still absent from how history is taught and assessed in England
Over a third of GCSE, AS and A-level exam papers in 2023 made no mention of women at all.

NEW | The machine is working overdrive…

Despite Prince Andrew, the British press is still pumping out the Royal Family's propaganda

The Windsor mafia are happy to imply the disgraced ex-Duke of York is an outlie; the media is co-operating with that lie

For much of the 1960s and 1970s, Prince Andrew was second in line to the throne and could - had tragedy struck - have become king three years ago.

Those who oppose a republic on the not entirely convincing grounds of "I don't want a President Farage/Blair etc" might do well to contemplate that one.

In addition to retaining the "prince" in his title, Prince Andrew remains (very aptly) a 'Vice' Admiral in the Royal Navy and also remains eighth in line to the throne.

And there's nothing you plebs can do about it.

But something something about tourists...

After years of drip-fed revelations, we might as well face it. This is a family elevated by birthright: they’re stuck with him and so are we, says Guardian columnist Marina Hyde

Government and the main opposition can and should convene civic society! All that is being asked is that the government show as much leadership and integrity as the world’s best Arsenal blog.
Bluesky is still a tiny platform. Should the normies who use Twitter for, like, football or non-political stuff, be left to the far-right influencers, with no dilution from the non-fascists who remain?

In Our Time is such a great programme. I've learnt so much from it and it's where I first 'met' @oldfortunatus.bsky.social and many other experts. Thanks Melvyn 👍
Melvyn Bragg has decided to stand down as host of In Our Time, the BBC says.

6. Having followed AWFC closely since 2012, I now care much more about the fortunes of Arsenal Women than Arsenal men, and the reason is that the absence of VAR makes the matchday experience better.

I’m glad you asked. Not many people know this but Chloe Kelly won the Champions League with Arsenal, the only English club to have won it. (Who have now won it: twice!)
Champions League you say? Who did she win that with and have any other English teams won it before?
