Content warnings are essentially the same as knowing what ingredients are in your food, so you can choose to avoid that particular meal if it's got something in you that's gonna give you a bad time.
And that's okay! Not every meal/art piece is gonna be made for you in mind.

I've been thinking a lot about the purpose of Content Warnings as an accessibility tool. Knowing a story will involve scenes/themes of violence, bigotry or sex doesn't 'ruin the experience', it gives people the chance to decide for themselves if it's an experience that will hurt them or not.
