This is actually a bit scary, isn't it? Clear as day how easily AI can be used to invent narratives and twist people's world views from a simple google search.

that's a situation I hadn't even thought of before you mentioned it - it makes sense given the accessibility and importance put on language (and rightly so!) - everyone knows how to write, but knowing how to write well sounds a bit more ambiguous

The act of creation is itself the reason for doing something like writing; money, rewards and fame are just a means to that end. If the latter comes first, there's no true art involved.

you can't be gatekeeping people from doing the thing if they are literally not even doing the thing - I find it hard to imagine anyone could fool themselves into thinking they're a writer by using a service like this. the motive seems entirely money driven (as with most ai)
