I hope you're having a great day!
Been off social media for Lent, but here’s the bingo card I made - for posterity! Each prediction has a general one and a specific one - curious to see how it turns out!

7. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Everyone was completely right. Masterclass of a Metroidvania. I may go back and 100% it, but I got to like 90% just during the regular playthrough because it was just a blast! Shame that there won't be a sequel anymore... But what a game!

Put out a little EP of the first round of my Lofi music on streaming services earlier this week :)

There's a bunch more sessions that are half-worked ideas, so I'd suspect those turn into something either later this year or next year or something?

I'm playing through Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown currently, and y'all weren't kidding! This game has taken notes from all of the best metroidvanias and executed flawlessly so far.

6. Balatro

So, it's this hidden gem, you've never heard of it... It's about a dragon who eats potatoes and never pays his taxes and...

Jk, It's Balatro and it's awesome! I only put it down so I wouldn't *only* play this game for a while haha

5. Unravel Two

Again - started it years ago, beat it last month! It tells a moving story that I... Honestly didn't really pay attention to haha I just had fun with puzzle-platformey stuff and may go back for extra challenges! Mostly was just to kick it off the backlog. Great co-op though!

4. Topdee and Toodee

There were some puzzles in here that were genuine stumpers! Also one or two that felt kind of cheap lol But overall, great production value, great puzzles, funny characters/writing and super neat concept across the board! Ending sequence was fun too!

3. Trifox

This is one in the "Played most of it a different year but decided to knock it out of the backlog" category lol. All in all, I think this game does what it's setting out to do fairly well. It's a bit rough on Switch and kinda janky, so I wouldn't 'recommend it', but... It's done!

2. Cursed to Golf

After having played another 2D golf game I had my eye on last year (Golf Club Wasteland) I hoped this one would deliver, and... It did! Super arcadey, fun mechanics and power-ups, moderately replayable, fun characters, and good art style!

1. The Last Campfire

For a game that's consistently been on sale for $1.99 I didn't have super high hopes for it to be all that great - but it really delivered! Puzzles, low stress energy, small but intertwined world, moving story, good performance. I was pleased to have played it!

Based on my Nintendo First Party Games spreadsheet, I think the game itself was released for the Super Famicom, but then they did a bunch of Sattelaview expansions?

But either way - JP exclusive first party games are a great get! And I also could just be wrong! haha

25. Inscryption

Technically, I beat this one just barely into 2025 (around Jan 2-3) but most of the time I put into it was in December!

This one was fun because my wife picked it as my next game to play and she was invested in the mystery of it. Great game for a blind playthrough! Very memorable.

24. Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

While I saw varied opinions on this game - I had a great time with it! My daughter asked to play it with me a lot and that was super fun (even though she had no clue what she was doing). I enjoyed 100%ing it and am excited about the future of 2D Zelda!

And all things considered, despite some nitpicks with it, I think Echoes of Wisdom was still my GOTY :)

lol I wonder what month I got exophase up and running
December 18, 2024 at 7:04 PM
Aaaaaand those 72 hours are exclusively Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age
December 18, 2024 at 7:03 PM
This is hilarious because the only reason it's so many games is because I opened every single game I own so it would show up on exophase lol

And I'm pretty sure this is technically the least I've played since I got my Switch? Not because I didn't want to! New position at work has made it tough!

How dare you blue-line something to suggest I be more concise.
I'll have you know that I like to have to nitpick spaces and junk in posts because I'm constantly running out of characters, solely due to wanting to add that little bit of emphasis or context that no one needs, but I like to add!

Since this app is also for posting cat pictures - here’s my family cat Zoe! (We got her when I was 13)

She’s 19, coming towards the end, but so sweet!

She lives 3000 miles away so I probably have pet her for my last time, but was thrilled that my daughter got to meet her in March!

23. Golden Sun: The Lost Age

Whereas I'd played the first game four or five times, I'd only ever played The Lost Age once, so it was great to revisit, see things in a new light, and get to fix some mistakes from the last time!

(Again... Camelot and MonolithSoft please bring GS to Switch 2!! 🤞)

22. Golden Sun

My biggest hope for the Switch successor is for this franchise to please come back <3
Playing back through Golden Sun was an incredible journey and everything I remembered it to be! It's a slow start, but a wonderful blend of mechanics (and amazing music).

21. Golf Club Nostalgia
Quick one! I had been looking for a fun little golf game and I like the vibes and overall concept in this game! Unfortunately the finicky controls and overly precise courses hold it back from being a relaxing experience, but a stressful one instead.

20. Metroid Prime Remastered
I’m going to have some long form thoughts when I get the blog started, but long story short - as we all know, it’s an incredible game! Now extra excited for Metroid Prime 4 now! Also, this is my inaugural First-Person-Shooter and it’s a great one!

19. Minit
Finished up two nights ago! What a little gem of a game! Clever, cute, funny and also kinda made me super anxious the whole time haha But it was a fun time and is another example of a short game that feels like a quite full experience :)

18. Battle Chef Brigade
Started this late 2022 and got sidetracked - but it's *really* quite fun! Had been interested since 2017 and got it on sale. I had 2.5 chapters left and was intimidated to return, forgetting mechanics, but it delivered for the rest of the game!
