Milo would like to be an honest person and thinks lying is Wrong™ but became a habitual liar during the height of his gambling addiction. He still routinely lies to himself and others to hide the fact he's struggling to keep things under control. He's deeply ashamed of this but rationalizes it away.

He has become more careful after adopting Birk but still regularly manages to unnerve his colleagues by blurting out stuff you probably shouldn't let the personal security listening devices pick up. Best not to bring up agriculture in his presence. At all.

Ingmar on the other hand doesn't gel with lying, subterfuge or double standards of any kind and rarely expects those things from others, either. He often ends up at odds with inefficiencies purposely baked into the system and has made some powerful enemies by being vocal about it. Some friends, too.
