on my cloud here we hate capitalism & endometriosis in equal measures 🤝 😷
one of the most *painful* experiences of my life was getting a uterine biopsy with no pain medication. (and i have endometriosis)

because there has been little concern for gynecology historically and we don’t have nerves or something. 🫠

but, please, think of the men.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME

Congress didn’t pass a law requiring NIH-funded trials to include women until 1993. Drug trials with government funding only started including women in the NINETIES

And that’s only drug trials! And not ones with private funding!

Health research FAMOUSLY excludes women.

We’re in the middle of an authoritarian takeover of the government. Yet Trump’s approval rating is pretty much at an all time high and now we’re all supposed to watch a blood sport while being fed Elon Musk ads.

Surely there are better ways to spend a Sunday evening.

called two of my congresspeople and left messages, but schumer’s dc voicemail is off for messages outside of business hours like democracy (or an inbox) has business hours

@schumer.senate.gov, why can’t we leave messages before y’all open?

these are amazing i had no idea about the quiet posters feed OR bloomscrolling! 💐
If you're doomscrolling:

- Hydrate!

- Check to see if you're muting and/or blocking enough. Trust me, you'll still stay informed.

- Check out your Quiet Posters feed. I just did; temp & volume is calmer there.

- Check out the bloomscrolling & photography tags. Boost those who are using alt text!

Thank you, AG Tish James! There is so much we can do on the state & local level to protect New Yorkers from the MAGA agenda — but we need public outrage, principled city & state leaders, and collective action to do it. Join us at 6:30pm on E 35th & 1st to make sure NYU Langone hears our voices.

Dear Legacy Media,

They really are as racist and sexist as we've been telling you, and it would be helpful if you would report on it in an accurate and truthful manner. Context matters. As evidenced here.

had to walk out of a class due to a news-driven anxiety attack and while nothing is better, i have emailed, called, and left messages for every one of my representatives. i have to feel like it's something, even the tiniest thing.

For SoCal friends,

Here is a list of resources for shelter, animal boarding, free items, and distribution hubs. These places can also use donations (e.g., food, water, masks, and blankets). Please consider donating if you can.

i feel so helpless over here on the other coast, so my giving even just a little bit feels like something. 😔💕
All, the Pasadena Humane Society is asking for donations - they're taking in animals right now, and are also preparing to evacuate if needed.

Please consider helping:

i am glad that i resisted the urge to start tearing everything apart in my cleaning & just started with my desk bc i’m already exhausted

my goal for the break was to clean specific areas so the organised clutter didn’t then clutter my brain. can’t (or shouldn’t) do it all at once. a win is a win.
