It is nice that the US has what is being described by principals as a Banana Deal with Ecuador. That is to the mutual benefit of those countries. Not sure how much relief for what "cannot be grown, mined, or naturally produced in the US" does here, as Ecuador is an oil field full of rose gardens.

this is interesting! this "searchlight" thing is indeed what my reading instruction consisted of in school. i remember i was frustrated, as i knew how to read. something like "i didn't have to do that to read this, and it makes no sense to do it, but i will say i did it so i can move on already"
