In my tiredness I nearly ruined a sticky toffee pudding

Perfect weather to sit in a vascular surgeon's waiting room

Literally my response

Miniature painters, I present to you one of the most horrifying hobby messages I've ever received.

For context I'd given a friend some Lord of the Rings miniatures as an introduction to painting for their partner.

A friend has started making his own dice, last night he gave me two of his first sets. I'm so impressed

Our council has officially stated anyone can put up any flags on any street lights as long as they're not offensive.

I guess it's time to completely undermine some racists with the aid of Gondor.

My new insult for people who paint flags on roundabouts

I used to bake all the time when my kids were still kids and not full adults, trying to get back into the swing of it.

I'm meeting friends for roleplay tonight (5e, yeah I know) and took the opportunity to refresh my cookie proficiency.

One of the only silver linings to spending most of the year sitting in hospital waiting rooms and on wards is that I've read a lot more than usual.

Just finished John Gwynne's Bloodsworn trilogy (starting with Shadow of the Gods) and highly recommend it. Viking fantasy at it's best.

Absolutely get a set of these, some of them can be tricky but they're excellent once you get the hang of them

Thank you mate, I'm very pleased with it. I'm currently obsessed with weathering metallics, working on this Ork as well but taking a bit longer with him.

Finally worked out how to use Dirty Down's Verdigris. I love the Trench Crusade models and this Brazen Bull is a joy to paint.

Just the brass and flesh done so far.

I haven't posted hobby stuff in a while, thought you lot might like this throwback to my very pink Votann from 40k

Ever since I got ill my mental health has been on a downward spiral, I haven't been able to look in mirrors or even do video calls. I've hated everything about myself.

Last weekend I finally felt myself for the first time in a year. I didn't feel like I was too much for people, I felt like me again

This whole nail varnish thing has got a bit out of hand (pun intended).

Spent a whole £1.79 on a metallic pink nail varnish called "Shirley Temple" while wearing a pearlescent gold called "Serenity" at this rate I'll have a full collection named after exotic dancers.

Apologies for the quietness, it's festival season here in the UK and I'm up and down the country hosting things. I even got caught on camera doing it this weekend

Redid my nails but with pink under the glaze this time. I can't explain why this makes me so happy but has become a big part of regaining self esteem

So of course I did both full hands

Lucy found some black crackle effect topcoat for nails in a charity shop and realised I'm still a nerdy goth kid who would immediately use it to paint his nails like a volcano god

Living in England mens everything you own is designed to hold onto as much heat as possible.

Which is why currently being in my car feels like sitting at the centre of a nuclear reactor.

Anyone know anything about geology? What would you say this is? I found it in a charity shop for £1 labelled as a coaster. I've tried to look it up and from everything online it could be anything from a meteorite to dinosaur bone to a collection of fossilized shells. Can anyone help?

Someone's been using Pokémon cards like £10 notes at a strip club outside and it made me realise Pokémon cards are a more stable currency than the pound

Calling myself "Dad?" in Pokémon Gold has made it so much funnier

One of my very close friends knew I'd been going through a lot this year and, during our weekly MtG group, gave one of these each for to my youngest and me.

It's a Pride edition Chromatic Lantern, a card you could only get if you went to certain FLGS events and I've just not been able to. Tears.
