O'Odham Tash introduced me at a young age to culture I wouldn't even begin to understand until I reached my thirties, but I did always understand that my family and I loved the food there. And maybe that's where I should make my point. Sharing a meal around the table with family is wonderful. But.

The Casa Grande Ruins was the greatest historical landmark near where I grew up. I was lucky enough to visit it twice in my life, to see what was likely the birth place of irrigation for farming in the southwest. It was what made the valley the brilliant farmland it was.
