It needed no line of sight, I would deep strike it in with a drop pod, so it was awful on the turn it entered, usually paying for itself in 1 turn. I loved it but it was filthy and I wasn't angry when they dropped it 😆
It was also an innate power, no test needed, no deny the witch.

Doom of Malentai when it was around.
Did failed Ld test worth of damage damage to stuff within like 12" range, gained that many wounds. I got up to 10 regularly. Best way to kill it was instant death vs it's toughness of 4.
It was fucking horrific, not surprised they took it out. It was death.

I think a lot of this also comes down to a basic face of humans, that people like this are just blissfully unaware of.
Humans are amazing at adapting to change, but generally dislike it.
If "his" hobby had begun with the things he rails against, he would have just complained about other change.

I remember being at a family Christmas where I was sharing a room with my grandma who was snoring so loudly I found it upsetting. Like... aggressively loud. i don't know how she wasn't bleeding from it. They gave me earplugs and I could FEEL the snoring. Like being near to a speaker at a concert.
