Tankard is a band I’ve not heard of, but they take me back to my thrash metal days. Playlist is off to a ripping good start. I work for FedEx, so I feel like this is going to help get me through the season.

Feeling a bit of nostalgia for a time when movies would have a theatrical run that might be months rather than weeks, or even mere days.

Here’s a thing. I never knew what Nish looks like, having only ever heard him on one of my favorite podcasts, The Bugle.

I found Strong Songs via Tripleclick, a video game podcast he also does. Love the episodes where he dissects music I like, but even more interesting is gaining appreciation when he explains music I don’t like, or haven’t really thought about.

Hmm. Slow Horses, of course. Never heard of the other ones, will check out Eastern Gate for sure. Don’t like Gere, but love Jeffrey Wright… what a conundrum.

I still have a bunch of old consoles, but the one I really miss is the Dreamcast. Lent it to someone and then circumstances beyond either of our control meant I never got it back.

Ooh, never heard of this one. But actors from Slow Horses and Shetland? Yes please!

Wouldn’t trust this idiot about how to treat a nick from shaving.

Dunno why but this reminded me of another cancelled show I loved called Terriers. That show stuck a landing that was satisfying but left room for a reprieve were it to happen.

You and I are way too old to be hip to the efforts of the Wooten family. And yet here we are. A tip of the cap to you, good sir.

Nope. It’s just that I’ve lost track of time and didn’t realize how long I’ve been listening to Victor.

This was a fantastic show, not just about people turning out differently given different circumstances but presumably identical genetics, but also about the different realities people on opposite sides of the Cold War might have experienced.

Such a great show. It’s sad that it seems to be largely forgotten. Ah well, at least we have the cast going on to make other shows I really enjoyed.

I must be old because subscriptions are the default way I use YouTube. Had no idea the vast majority of people just let the next video just be fed to them. I left Facebook and Twitter because they made me unhappy. You have given me a lot to think about.

The idea that Canadians would want to be subsumed into a country with a fraying social safety net and authoritarian takeover is laughable. I say this as an embarrassed American.

Send him a bottle of Everclear. It almost killed me in my younger, stupider days, but he might enjoy it.

Yes, that’s another one that started aging badly the moment anyone had time for reflection. Not to disparage the talent or good intentions, these are well intentioned. But at best they miss the point, at worst they are an effort to whitewash injustice.

I haven’t been into Ritchie for a while. This clip was undeniably amusing, making fun of fascists, perhaps it is time for a fresh look.

Emilia Perez, judging by the reaction of the trans community, seems like a first step that is misguided. In the way Crash (the sucky one) or Greenbook tackled important issues in a simplistic way. Brutalist looks fascinating, and while I doubt Nosferatu is a crowd pleaser, looking forward to it.

Eh. You called one of, if not the most influential bands of the last century irrelevant today. I am not a big Beatles fan, but boy howdie do I love so many musicians who were obviously inspired by them, and continue to be to this day.

I watched this with my girlfriend and we were both engrossed. We didn’t think it was male-centric or aimed at ‘bros’, if it had been, we wouldn’t have wanted to see it. Sometimes it just comes down to bad promotion I guess.

Can’t remember where, but I remember hearing how making a pencil is pretty much beyond any one person.

Always interesting when people play the guitar strung ‘upside down’. Eric Gales comes to mind.

Now I’m going to go down a Cotten rabbit hole.

Didn’t know there is a collection of Thompson covers. Best news since learning of the Prine cover albums.

Also need more of this Tabor person right away.

Great way to start Sunday morning.

It is repugnant, but fortunately there is no shortage of good pizzas as well.
