“The Ungovernables”
Another excellent article by Mr Hislop.
If you read nothing else I write, read this.

Canadians outside Alberta, pay particular attention. If Smith succeeds, she will infect other provinces with "ungoverning."

And trying to break the very idea of Canada

The Premier speaks very confidently, even when offering up gobbledygook… Her word simply cannot be trusted on this file. DEMAND SHE SHOW THE EVIDENCE.

"saving $10,000 surgery" for "high acuity cases"... that's laughably and demonstably untrue.

What is this referring to? This is gobbledygook. It makes absolutely no sense. Utter nonsense.

Show the contracts, show the rates, show the numbers… The Premier speaks so confidently here: show the receipts to the people PAYING THE BILL.

1 - “Minister Jones looked into rates and said 'we need to stop this'". Very obvious question: why didn’t her previous minister say “we have to stop this”... but instead PERSONALLY SET THE HIGH RATES, which the Premier would have been aware of

This is literally NONSENSE. Absolutely nonsensical!

Reminder: the Premier has NO medical expertise whatsoever, and seems to be getting horrendous advice (if she isn’t intentionally trying to mislead here)

Let’s delve into a couple of points:

Christina Gray is an absolute POWERHOUSE in QP, each time she rises.

I appreciate so very much that she consistently comes equipped to demand answers from this government about how they are blowing thru OUR money on contracts for their friends and family.

🚨BREAKING!🚨

The NDP revealed yet another real estate deal involving Sam Mraiche and seemed to raise concerns he was might have been given the heads up to buy the building by someone in government!

If you watch 2 minutes today, make this it!

Ouch. Poor doggos
I'll give this to the Conservatives, they knew which faithful dogs they could kick and still inspire complete loyalty. The Conservatives had absolutely no respect for their voters in this riding, and it turns out they were right to have no respect for them.

I knew he'd win, but I thought more people in Battle River—Crowfoot would have more self-respect than this landslide.
Conservatives really are sheep.
They think they're so tough and defiant but can't wait to lick the fancy shoes of an elite carpetbagger who couldn't give less of a shit about them.
Live updates: Pierre Poilievre projected winner in Alberta’s Battle River—Crowfoot byelection, expected to regain seat in Parliament
Pierre Poilievre is considered the favourite to win today’s byelection, which experts deem “one of the safest Conservative seats in all of Canada.”

Kindness repaid. Edmonton’s finest folk.
Riding home on my E-bike, my front wheel popped off. I was wearing a helmet. I am 61. The bike folded on top of me. Pinned, bleeding
A 9 yr old came to my rescue. He brushed my head & flagged down a car. No broken bones, a deep gash on my thigh and road rash. Grateful for the kid's kindness.

It should be illegal

Mr. Kurek, resigning a seat and trashing thousands of votes for which you campaigned few weeks ago, is an insult to democracy, to voters, and to volunteers who helped you.

This opportunistic by-election will cost Canadians $1.7 million.

NEW: Battle River-Crowfoot MP Damien Kurek has officially resigned his seat to allow Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre to run in a byelection.

Danielle Smith’s (premier of Alberta) recent annual check-up! Delusions of grandeur indeed!
Doctor: Any symptoms lately? How do you feel?

Me: Good as gold.

Doctor into tape recorder: Patient appears to believe they are a precious metal. Hallucinations possibly tied to delusions of grandeur. Begin antipsychotics and place on 72 hour involuntary hold.

Danielle Smith talking point from political analysts - "I got a mandate to fix Canada, I got a mandate to make Canada work." No. She fucking did not. Why are we not addressing the fact that she gaslights and LIES constantly? She hasn't delivered on public services that are her responsibility.

If this is what Premier Danielle Smith is willing to share when speaking to the MAGA media outlets that fuel Trump’s agenda, Albertans are justified to ask what else is she saying behind closed doors when she meets with officials and opinion makers in the US President’s orbit?

I said it at the top of the #CorruptCare scandal, I’ll say it again:

If Alberta doesn’t get this Premier out of office on the backs of the Alberta Health scandal, this Premier will be far more trouble for this province - and possibly the country - than any of us can even begin to imagine.
