I also remember reading this as a teen and read his biography a few years later. I think this first inspired me to study and teach history

One of my favorite Ginger films. It’s one I have seen several times along with another favorite, Kitty Foyle.

It’s nice but over time they were eating all of the grass in our yards and walking around on the roof and sitting on our cars. We stopped leaving bird seed but they visit once in awhile and wait outside the door.

We often have multiple peacocks in our yard. Sometimes they get a bit too comfortable. The neighborhood used to be an orange grove 60 years ago and they were used to alert farmers of intruders.

Good choice. My movie today is Mr. and Mrs. Smith (1941). I’m watching it today and forgot how much I enjoyed Carole and Robert Montgomery in this directed by Hitchcock.

The Major and the Minor has two favorite scenes. The first when she works as a scalp massager and next when she appears with her mother at the end of the film.

One of my favorites especially the musical score which one an Oscar. Erich Korngold, an Austrian composer came to the United States to work on this and could not return when his home was seized by the Nazis. I think the music in this movie inspired future movies to focus on scores
