Such a fascinating and rich discussion. As a result, I’m reading Race & Reunion recommend by Prof. Nikole Hannah-Jones. The premise is that we’re in a period similar to the Post Civil War, Reconstruction era.This is why being intentional about learning history is critical.

it really is astonishing how quickly it goes from “civil war” and “blood in the streets” to “wow guys it’s just a sad tragedy” when it becomes inconvenient
