absolutely. Here’s one of a few I’ve photographed, from a favorite Wisconsin location:

I absolutely love this kind of tribute 🤗

Ahhh, probably “real” cod from the Pacific… one of the things I envy about my coastal friends! Enjoy 😊

It’s brilliantly sunshiny here today (with a very gusty, cold wind 🥶). I just came home from the village coffee shop where I caught up on the latest with my old neighbor. Next up: I need to get a pot of soup going, then I think I might settle down with a book and a 🐈 😊 Have a cozy afternoon!

It’s been very windy here; I am always surprised to find a little colorful pocket, sometimes right up until the first snowfall 🍂 🍁 ❄️

OMG, isn’t this FINE?? (also me: after shedding all kinds of tchotchkes for this move, I would even take a pass on an exquisite Hellenistic Greek cast pomegranate vase 😬)

So great, in mid November

Just stepped out; clouds really obscuring our view

(and hard to photograph! They become quite massive and it’s so hard to adequately capture a mature plant)

I don’t think we’re going to do much today, possibly a quick trip to a big box store to buy shelves for our storage unit. It’s the first cold snap of the season, but temperatures are predicted to return to the 50s (10-12 Celsius) in a couple of days. Looking forward to flopping with a book later 😁

I’m in the annual category… and yes! It’s very worthwhile to grow

We can’t grow camellias here, but they are lovely 😉

I feel like we have the best of all possible outcomes… it took decades for that tree to hit 7 feet; now we’ll be able to enjoy the little cloned tree in our space for our remaining years ☺️ And the mother plant could not possibly have found a better caregiver than Telo.

Ficus: we used to put her outdoors for the summer, but she needs to be indoors for Wisconsin winters. We had her for 35 years; finding her a good home was very important to us. She will live on with Telo, and Telo will root a part of her for us to nurture in our new place.
November 8, 2025 at 2:46 AM
(Telo is a master plant propagator, and she’s going to start a new little tree for us with cuttings from the old one. And she will host the mother tree for the rest of her days)

My husband spotted his first today. 🎄 Whatever floats your boat! 🤷🏼‍♀️ (having said that, while I don’t choose to have a lit tree up this early, I did “enlighten” our ficus tree from the winter to the spring solstice. We gave her to a dear friend when we moved into an apartment this month)

I love the mums! I always try to find plants with the tightest flower buds so that they bloom into the late season
