Excited to see North Dakota lawmakers prioritizing underserved rural communities! This proposal could bring much needed improvements in healthcare, education, and infrastructure to our aging, small communities.

Regardless of our zip code or how much money we have in the bank, we should all be able to live and age in accessible, affordable housing in our communities.

Yet, older adults are the fastest-growing age group experiencing homelessness.

North Dakota mornings don’t hold back. It was -14°, but this view almost makes you forget the cold… almost.

Is volunteering a genuine, freely chosen act? Or is it another name for unwaged work?

Emma Dowling (University of Vienna) speaks to care volunteers in Germany on why they give up their time and how they defend their autonomy in times of crisis.

Day 4:
One thing I love about North Dakota is how dark the night skies are. We're lucky to be in an area with low light pollution, making it perfect for stargazing. On the Bortle Scale, most of the state is a Class 1-3, meaning you can see the stars in stunning detail. ✨ #photography #northdakota

Day 3 of our series:
The East Norway Lutheran Church, near Aneta, ND, holds a special place in history. The congregation, organized in 1891, was led by Rev. L. L. Langehaug from 1905 until 1939, when he tragically suffered a stroke during a sermon.

Axial seamount, off the Oregon coast, is getting ready to erupt (again) in 2025. The most well instrumented under sea volcano has reached similar inflation as when it erupted (as predicted at that time) in 2015. Real time data is online for anyone to see! ⚒️🧪🌋

Day 2 of the series:
The East Norway Lutheran Church, built in 1903 on land donated by Johanna Newman, stands quietly in the snow, watching over the prairie. This place once brought Norwegian settlers together back in 1891. Can you imagine the life and laughter this building has seen? #photography

🔥🔥A 2021 study found that Medicaid expansion as part of the ACA led to a substantial reduction in mortality, primarily driven by reductions in disease-related deaths. A 2018 study in the Journal of Political Economy found that, Medicaid reduced infant and child mortality since the 1960s and 1970s.🔥🔥

The old Norwegian church near Aneta, ND. Weathered, worn, and glowing in the prairie sunset. This place feels like a story waiting to be told. Kicking off a photo series with this gem. what’s your vibe: peaceful or haunting?

Then one foggy Christmas eve.... Hoar frost is one of the best parts of winter. ❄️
Hoar frost forms when water vapor in the air comes into contact with a solid surface that is already below freezing, creating ice crystals as shown on the branches .
