We just approved a budget that protects the services Austin depends on.

Even in a tight year, we invested $1 million in wildfire mitigation to keep our community safe, added EMS overtime capacity to keep our ambulances fully staffed, and continued support for Parks employees (1/2)

Yesterday I had a great conversation with Austin-area realtors at ABoR’s Quarterly Coffee with a Council Member.

We talked about the progress we've made on housing, including HOME Phase 2, Site Plan Lite, and the single-stair ordinance, (1/2)

It was an honor to join today’s Veterans Day Parade and Celebration at the Texas State Capitol.

This morning I had the honor of presenting the City's Veterans Day proclamation to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

Thank you to all who have served for your dedication and the sacrifices you and your families have made for our country.

On Election Day I gave a District 8 Girl Scouts troop a behind-the-scenes tour of City Hall & shared how our local government works.
They loved exploring the building especially seeing
Council Chambers & our office & even saw democracy in action with voters casting their ballots!

They’re cute and they’ve got an important job: taking care of our parks! 🐐

If you’re out on the Johnson Creek Trailhead, you may see goats at work clearing out overgrown vegetation, poison ivy, and other invasive plants. This is called conservation grazing.

Today, the City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department, and Texas Parks and Wildlife released about 2,000 sterile grass carp into Lake Austin to help manage hydrilla — a fast-growing invasive plant that’s been spreading quickly across the lake.

Whether you’re near parks, green spaces, or busy streets, fire danger can spread fast, and it’s up to all of us to help prevent it.

Wildfires can start in seconds, but prevention begins with simple, everyday choices.
