The Braves. Forever and always.
Expedition 33 is going to clean house, but I’m content knowing the true victor.

Oh, you feel bad for him? Feel bad that he threw the ball away?

#245 - Dark Souls III - People herald this one, but after getting Bloodborne the year prior and 3 souls games in 5 years before that, I was burnt out.

I beat it once, enjoyed it, but never really thought back on it after that.

#244 - Dark Souls II - This came out the same day as Titanfall. I was there at a packed midnight launch for that game, and was one of only 2 people for DS2. Funny how DS became the mega franchise.

DS2 was great, but definitely flawed. Still put 20 hours in the first 2 days

#243 - Dark Souls - People say Skyrim was the game of the seventh generarion, but it was Dark Souls.

A masterpiece that influenced a genres and created its own.

The environmental storytelling, brutal gameplay, and online components expanded from Demon’s Souls and went down in history

#242 - Demon’s Souls - 16 years ago, this was released and it was something special.

I got it Day 1, but the difficulty was so much for me that it could around 4 months for me to pick it back up. My first playthrough was a save-scrub but I was hooked & became a Souls fanatic from there.

#241 - Outlast II - I only played the demo of this one but wasn’t too interested.

I’ve always regretted it though as it has intriguing elements that I might find enjoyable.

Maybe during Black Friday, I’ll pick it up again.

#240 - Outlast - Not a fan of this one. It builds the atmosphere incredible well and the story is interesting, but the run-and-hide powerless gameplay coupled with a horrendous ending really soured my playthrough.

#239 - Matt Hoffman’s Pro BMX - As a THPS fan, this intrigued me quite a bit. I never got as invested in it as its skateboarding brother, but it was still a good time for a short time.

#238 - Pac-Man - It’s Pac-Man. An OG icon of gaming and the arcade scene.

It’s a high-score chaser like many from the era, but the few times I have played it, I enjoyed it.

I’m quite terrible at it, however.

#237 - Baldur’s Gate III - A truly worthy GOTY title. One for all-time.

I’m not a DnD fan, and even I was swept up in it all. The gameplay can’t be a bit too RPG-ish for my small brain, but the narrative, choices, and relationships built are some of the most memorable in gaming history.

#236 - Astro Bot - It was fun watching this win Game of the Year, but it didn’t deserve it IMO.

It just felt like a bigger version of Playroom, which was disappointing. Also, the levels some time made sense in relation to PS mascots. Other times, it was just random shit.

Still, decent

#235 - Astro’s Playroom - Remains one of the top PS5 games for me.

A tech-demo pack-in that was so much more. Excellent level-design and platforming that really showed off what Sony could do. Unfortunately, they didn’t follow it up with a worthy successor.

#234 - AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack - I mentioned having a brief stint with Guitar Hero, but there was one more I enjoyed: AC/DC Rock Band.

Love the band and this one felt like a no-brainer. Had a lot of fun jamming out.

#233 - Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Builds upon the brilliance of the original and offers even more in the ways of inventive platforming. Having Yoshi adds a new dimension to the gameplay.

I’m in awe of how good these games were.

#232 - Super Mario Galaxy - After a misstep with Sunshine, 3D Mario was back and more incredible than ever.

The space adventure felt enormous despite being on small planets.

The level design is out of this world further cementing Nintendo as the Master.

#231 - Super Mario Bros. - Today marks 40 years of the GOAT. The reason we even have video games.

Obviously, its successors have lapped it many times over but it still stands as a great platformer of the era.

Mario is forever and always the Gaming King.

#230 - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - A PS3-ass game if ever there was one.

Back when we thought the movies were done, but wanted more SW stories. Oh, how naive.

A fun “what if?” adventure that really stood out during the generation.

#229 - Peter Jackson’s King Kong - Probably the best movie tie-in game ever made. Better than the movie imo.

Incredible level design with incredible shooting mechanics.

Just a total thrill from start to finish.

#228 - Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - Just a simple recreation of the movie. Loved it when I was 15 so I was all about the game.

Super short too so the perfect weekend gaming session.

I miss movie tie-in games.

#227 - Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong’s Quest - Solid level design and a nice shakeup from 2 with Diddy and Dixie, but the absence of DK is felt.

Plus, I hated the currency system. Kremlin Koins and stuff were so dumb.

#226 - Duke Nukem Forever - I was one of the sad souls who hyped this game in some of its darkest times.

However, I didn’t hate this game. I thought it was fun. Nothing special, but about the best case scenario for Duke after a decade+ of delays.

#225 - 3D Dot Game Heroes - From Software’s greatest game.

Not really. But it’s still good!

Minecraft style before Minecraft and a perfect homage to the OG Legend of Zelda.

Love this game.

#224 - Resident Evil: Revelations 2 - We finally got Barry back! …but it was an episodic game.

Much better than people said, but its episodic delivery did nothing for it and, at times, ended on the worst notes.

#223 - Resident Evil: Revelations - This is where RE started to make a comeback. 7 gets all the recognition, but revelations started laying the groundwork for getting us back on track

The ship created that classic horror feel, & the monsters were well designed. Still light on puzzles tho
