I do think my Paddington is living the cosy dream today

Pensioners shouldn't be living in Band G and H houses, way too big for them and should be downsizing...

I still think the biggest thing we could do to make people get the bus more is to not get the windows streamed up. (And it was pretty much only us on the bus ground floor in this photo)

Plus didn't help the announcements / displays not working...

No point building cycling infrastructure if it's not maintained...

This was taken this morning, it's a lot worse during the week.

My centre of geography is much more JQ centric:

**Manel alert** I was hoping that cycling might be one of the better events for gender diversity but we've got an all male panel.

Interesting discussion on wanting to encourage leasing and salary sacrifice.

There's a great talk from Velogik and EY on the benefits of bike sharing. I'm not sure if the report is public but there is a podcast on it:

I'm at the Cycling Industries Europe Summit in Brussels today. Paul Walsh talks about the strike today and how events like this are often a turning point in getting people to try cycle share.

So even though that I've ordered with a credit card (that proves I'm over 18), Uber wants to scan my ID , store details about it exposing me to data security risks?

(And we've seen already with the Discord leak how this can be exposed...)

And of course, it looks like the play area has a road in-between it and the houses.

I always use doors (and lifts) as a example - what we tried to do was to prompt thinking. This flow chart is in one of our deliverables and shows how a user would interact with a driverless bus to open the door / trigger the lift

(but this is still unproven...)

Has the government thought through the possible next steps when you publicly name and shame people for small offences...

Brum Parking Days. Showing what you can do with the space. Pop up games, yoga and pasta making.

Plus St Pancras has pretty good roof game as well

Walked through Kings Cross to get to St Pancras and it really is a beautiful station with the roof.

I do quite like the designer steps on the underground but it does show the difference between London transport funding and elsewhere.

There's a couple of boards up at New St asking about what people want and what is the world waiting for. So many positive things there.

Is finding two electric bikes in one Beryl stand the equivalent of a double

The Basils are appreciating the extra space from travelling Eurostar Plus back to London.
August 8, 2025 at 3:51 PM
I love Eurostar a lot but really they are terrible at customer information when things go a bit wrong...

(I'm currently in the lounge and going to Brussels so no idea if this affects me)

This is probably an even more crazy example of an oversized urban one. At least traffic is fairly low here...
July 9, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Glad to see someone talking about roundabouts and pedestrians - it's not just the big ones.... here is one near where I live. Zebra crossings on two sides, but not all.

Also hard to cross with the side with Tesco as traffic comes out the car park.

So much pavement parking with a car park less than five minutes walk away...
