Claude code is okay. 4.5 is not as fast as haiku but debugging is better with Claude. Gemini pro 2.5 is the smartest but doesn't do patch editing. It uses line by line editing which is better when you have a specific really hard bug to fix.

Layoffs are nothing new in the industry. Companies hire a bunch of people, then they over extend, make bad investments, and have to lay off people to avoid filing chapter 11. This recent article explains quite well our dilemma.

AI isn't replacing jobs. AI spending is
Big spending on artificial intelligence puts pressure on jobs, as gloomy narratives about the future of work are ironically making new graduates less employable.

Sony Interactive Entertainment, via PlayStation Studios, has developed over 15 major titles between 2020 and 2024, including new entries and notable remasters/remakes like God of War Ragnarök, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and Demon's Souls.

I recently wrote an article for future mag about the pathology of anti tech people who oppose early adopters. This sociology is nothing new and repeats when ever there is a new breakthrough. Let me know what you think :)

The data doesn't suggest that. Sony for example has grown 10 points in revenue over the last decade which translates to more game sales on more titles. Quality and preference is subjective. However from a personal standpoint I agree. Today's games are trash compared to the golden age in 90s/2000s

I am not defending just talking from personal experience and testimony from my friends and colleagues who work in the industry. For example epic has been using ai to unit test KPI and regression for almost a decade now. I just don't see how AI can fully replace the decisive work human QA can do.
November 9, 2025 at 5:49 AM
That is not how it works. If you dig deeper they do not plan to replace their staff but augment it so there human QA can spend more time on useful things like playtest sessions and triage. AAA projects require KPI testing for all consoles etc. This will help accelerate release turn around time.
