Anyways, I’m taking a couple days off and dad and I are tackling refinishing the hardwood floors upstairs. We had already done the guest room as a pilot project two years ago before we tackled the first floor in May 2024. Here’s how some of the floor is looking sure we pulled the laminate.

I am that much more grateful to my friends this summer who abided by my requested mitigations on a group vacation with zero hesitation or pushback. And the man I’ve been seeing the last five months who likewise raised his mitigation strategies to meet mine without any issue.

But still, very sad to not be able to see family I haven’t seen in six years because they don’t see how this refusal is an abrogation of familial care.

And if my cousin and his family are so resistant to simply testing, I have no reason to believe they are doing ANY risk mitigation.

My sister has long term inflammatory issues from a Covid infection. This was to keep family safe. I guess at least they were honest with us.

Which would mean my aunt wouldn’t see her grandkids then. So, we are no longer going to Dayton because we don’t want to be a barrier to that and we won’t be in such a risky situation as gathering without testing beforehand.

And for decades they had a road named in honor of their former sheriff who terrorized Black residents. A coworker once spoke favorably to me of the sheriff’s effectiveness at keeping crime down.

I think Ocala and Lake/Sumter counties are still quite stuck in the past. Lake county commissioners just voted to rename a road after CK, they took the statue of the confederate general that was removed from the US capitol despite him having no connection to the county

I would definitely argue the Deep South extends further into Central Florida.
