Interesting question. I wouldn't have thought so as virtually every car now registers distance travelled in Km ( unless a very old car).

Glow plugs sound like an accessory early 90s ravers may have had. I used to do the illegal rave circuit. More the underground psychedelic or acid techno scene. More crusty than glowstick and fairy wings 😂

Temperature has definitely taken a dive alright. I'm down by the docks in Cork with work. It's lovely, but warm it is not

@misshalcyon.bsky.social Here's a couple from this evening with much of the olive green slime on the lattice head still visible. The smell is nowhere near as pungent as much earlier in the season.

Just like the phallic stinkhorn that you can smell long before you see it. It smells like an open sewer/rotting flesh. There is a green sticky slime covering the 'head' that contains the spores. The flies are attracted to the smell, feast on the slime, and spread the spores. Nature is amazing.

I make mushroom posts in Facebook & Instagram groups every autumn; primarily those that can be found locally. I always give advice on edibility/toxicity. I end every post with the warning to never eat any mushroom you are unsure of or rely on ID by photo. After that, it's individual responsibility.

I think going to mass once a day is just not enough to give thanks to the Lord; the daily application of a tourniquet of barbed wire to my nether regions is woefully insufficient to give thanks for the suffering of our saviour Jesus Christ, who died on the cross that we may be free.
