Today, I was fortunate enough to visit with my grandpa, who's in the state for a couple weeks. We share a birthday and it was wonderful catching up with him for the first time in like 6 years! We went to The Village Corner for lunch, since they just reopened.

Needed a little something to take the edge off. Wanted a Manhattan, didn't have sweet vermouth. Figured I could wing a Negroni with Cynar instead of vermouth. Decided to go wild. Wound up with old tom gin, averna, campari, a couple dashes laspang tincture, and a dash of balsamic vinegar.

I was just commenting on a friend's post and mentioned a pivotal movie for a weird, young gay me, May (2002). I feel like it's really slept on. It's got a lot of problems for sure, but damn if it didn't start the wave of female fronted horror where women weren't just victims.

Nice! Makes me wanna dig out my (cheaper) multi effects pedal from that era and see if I can dial in that tone. Also side note, when he said "cheesy digital Boss pedal", I was really hoping he was going to pull out a Metal Zone.
