Great!

Though I wonder who drafted it, because there are suboptimal passages. Like “We … do not oppose legitimate government oversight.” Good in theory but your critics see their oversight as legitimate so you’re giving them an easy way to dismiss your letter.
The presidents of 200 US colleges declare:

"As leaders of America’s colleges, universities, and scholarly societies, we speak with one voice against the unprecedented government overreach and political interference now endangering American higher education."
