This six-year research aims to: (1) identify new biomarkers for treatment monitoring and (2) novel targets for host-directed therapies.

It will also establish a comprehensive, integrated database, creating a vital resource for future systems biology and precision medicine research in TB.

TB remains one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases. In 2023, 10.8 million people became ill with TB and around 1.25 million died from it. Vietnam continues to be among the countries with a high TB burden with 182,000 new cases (182/100,000 population) in 2023 (WHO Global TB Report 2024).
