Tyrants view educated citizens as their greatest enemy.

Slaveholders stopped the enslaved from learning to read. Nazis burned books. Dictators censor media.

That’s why Trump is attacking education, science, museums, and the arts – to prevent us from learning.

It's Fascism 101.

There will be no one left to protect our land, our wildlife, us.
These stories are heartbreaking.
I was laid off this morning from USFWS as part of the sweeping DOGE cuts to probationary employees across the Dept. of Interior. To say I'm devastated doesn't even scratch the surface-I'm losing my dream job working with pallid sturgeon on the Missouri River. Solidarity with all my fed workers. 💔🐟

Love this idea!
If there are Little Free Libraries near you, they're a good place to put any children's books you want to pass along, in service of making sure other kids out there can find themselves in stories too. Some resources for cheap books in the replies.

The United States Military Academy has just eliminated all Cadet clubs and activities for POC. Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. It’s white Christian Nationalism.

If you take down a Confederate memorial that was literally dedicated to promote white supremacy, that’s “erasing history.”

But if you hide pictures of accomplished women, that’s just fighting wokeness.
Fellow NSA - National Security Agency veterans. Look at what’s happened at the National Cryptologic Museum. They covered up with brown paper the photos of Women in American Cryptology. All in response to President Trump’s anti-diversity executive order.

Senator Chuck Schumer torched Pete Hegseth:

"Of all the people we could have as Secretary of Defense is Pete Heseth? Really the best one we've got? Come on, you know he isn't. You know he's not even close."
