The thing with designating a group that doesn't actually exist as a terrorist organization is that they can then say anyone they want is a part of that group.

Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge?

It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

Unfortunately electionleaflets.org.au is down.

It does sort of still exist in the Trove Pandora archive: webarchive.nla.gov.au/awa/20100723...

But it's clunky.

It's not been active for many many years. So, is this something you lot care about? Or should we just allow to sunset?

For many years Open Australia Foundation ran electionleaflets.org.au

It takes time and dedication to run projects.

We want to know: *Should @oaf.org.au continue to put resources into providing this service?*

The Australian govt should immediately announce $500m funding for mRNA vaccine development.

Get those scientists here.

Just an amazing opportunity handed to us by the brain worm infested loon.
FFS:

RFK Jr. announced "that $500 million worth of vaccine development projects, all using mRNA technology, will be halted."

In his statement, RFK Jr. said "we're moving beyond the limitations of mRNA and investing in better solutions."

Antivaxxers continue to despise and lie about mRNA tech.

4) It encourages people to use VPNs, which increases the amount of resources it takes to investigate real crimes, and also complicated cybersecurity monitoring.

The whole concept is, and remains, an completely stupid an useless idea which harms everyone involved.

2) It makes it easier for someone to link a person's online account to their real world identity, which will facilitate stalking and blackmail.

3) It doesn't meaningfully accomplish the intended goal of age restricting content, which is mostly pointless anyway.

🪪 My concerns about the Online Safety Act remain the same as when I last wrote about it nearly decade a decade ago when it was proposed as the Digital Economy Bill:

1) It normalizes uploading sensitive documents such as ID scans to random websites, which will likely increase identity theft.

My personal experience with online safety was my school installing strict internet controls to Protect The Kids™, so I joined a hacking forum to learn bypasses. The users also taught me how to import drugs via the dark web. Then I got arrested by the FBI for computer hacking. It was all very safe.

I want to reiterate that countless conservative judges issued universal injunctions against the Biden administration, and the Supreme Court never halted the practice. Now, barely five months into Trump's second term, the court puts an end to these injunctions. A brazen double standard.

Great article explaining why MITRE is important, why we need a plan moving forward also talks about a new foundation being started which is interesting.
The 25-year-old system that underpins vulnerability tracking for the entire Internet almost went dark last night.

CISA renewed MITRE’s contract.

But trust is broken.

You’ll miss CVEs when they’re gone.
