The world’s 280 million electric bikes and mopeds are cutting demand for oil 4x more than electric cars due to their staggering uptake in China and elsewhere.
The world’s 280 million electric bikes and mopeds are cutting demand for oil far more than electric cars
Electric vehicles get all the press – but it’s the smaller unsung two wheelers cutting oil demand the most.

Sad for Louise Haigh but Heidi Alexander is good choice from public/active transport POV.
Keir Starmer has now appointed Heidi Alexander, who used to be Sadiq Khan's Deputy Mayor for Transport, as his new Transport Secretary, to replace Louise Haigh

Years ago we had the mayor bike to school with my 6 year old, within the first :30 seconds they were almost hit by a driver on live TV.
Every leader should be required to ride a bike (if able) with a 6 year old before they provide any direction on bike infrastructure.

It's simply incredible. Just absolutely blew it, her nuclear attack for a major moment. Pissed away with a passing reference to some shit she saw online.
It took years for Cameron to call for Brown to resign or Starmer to call for Johnson to resign. Badenoch has gone there after just three weeks. Where else do you have to go after that?

Please for God's sake stop using these hashtags. #RussianBankCollapse and #RunAwayRuble

This is causing completely unnecessary panic in Russia and could become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This is not the time to give up on Ukraine. Russian sanctions are working. Let's fund Ukraine more!

Sometimes I go out of my way just to ride down Rue Rivoli. There aren't many traffic lights and there is lots of space. Here is the Paris Brompton Club getting ready for a group ride, starting on Rue Rivoli

RIP ♥️

We need technological solutions or otherwise to prevent people driving these killing machines without a driving license or MOT.

Hello! Question of the day: should delivery drivers park in mandatory cycle lanes or should they park in the main lane?

Spot on. Comprehensive pedestrianisation should be far higher up the agenda in our cities than it is. Nearly wherever cars go, cities get worse. Nearly wherever they’re removed, those urban spaces flourish.
Before & After: I don’t think people realize the extent to which parked cars degrade public space.

"Strong men" will always appeal to a section of the masses because they seem to offer quick solutions and easy answers to complex problems. What happens next... is that the world... always falls apart as those quick solutions and easy answers turn out to be a lot of dangerous bollocks.

The perfect bike stand.

The Sheffield stand is already great as it provides locking points at front and back.

But its flaw is if it's removed from the ground due you can just slip the locks off the bottom.

This fixes that with a bar.

Now, a thief would have to steal your bike *and* the stand.
