Stop motion fantasy western is not something you see often but so many people nowadays seem alergic to originality.
I hope this game does very well in spite of the weird reception it got. Artistically speaking this is actually something new.

I recommend Tooth and Tail. Not a soulslike, but an RTS. Everything else is pretty much what you're saying.

Blasphemous is very good in many ways: Great soulsy combat, great art direction, great writing. My first soulslike and it still holds up as one of the good ones, one that I like to revisit periodically.

To be fair, sometimes devs get overly excited and announce things too soon themselves. Team Cherry had no obligation to drop a Silksong demo in 2019 but they did anyway.
I just hope that the game will be amazing and the wait is for good reason instead of the Duke Nukem Forever situation from 2011.
