On one hand - not many people watched Alien:Earth. On the other, I loved the creative guessing from the kids who came to get candy. Radiation kept me limited this year, but damn I still love Halloween.

Made a brief excursion on the way out from a family trip to Coachella Valley. A bit rushed, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I talk a lot about making good memories with the kiddo in the time I have left. Sometimes I’m thrown a wild assist. Tonight she randomly got picked to go on stage and do Biz’s Beat of the Day at the Yo Gabba Gabba Live show. The give and take randomness of life can be hard but I’m thankful for this.

24hrs into the “probably last trip to “original” home” post-diagnosis. I made a list of things for the fam and I to do. @treehousebrewing.bsky.social was a great start to the trip for the wife and I. For all the great beer back home in CO this may be our favorite US brewery.

Losing that MCI clean sheet last minute somewhat costly. All told dropped from 7k to 9,722. Could lose that coveted 10k finish. No room for error with my final transfer and armband choice.

I had one pre-show commission for ECCC. This comes from @jonathancase.bsky.social. Sort of embarrassed I’ve slept on his work because everyone I talked to lit up when I mentioned his name. Excited to delve into his books as well as eventually get a companion piece to this excellent art.

I picked up my fourth piece from @kevinmaguire.bsky.social this weekend. If I had more followers I’d tell them that everyone should have art from him. All the people writing and drawing the comics your read now grew up loving his stuff. It still stands out.

Rounded up my day picking up ECCC commissions. @tonyfleecs.bsky.social is one of nicest folks I’ve encountered at a con and I’ve been buying art from him for over a decade. I’ve asked for Gorgon on a MLP cover, Lockjaw on Stray Dogs and now Catman on Feral. Thanks for entertaining my sense of humor.

An incredibly busy first day at ECCC. Highlights included getting to be the guinea pig for Bad Idea’s latest con stunt. They were very gracious. As far as bucket list things go, I finally own a @terrymooreart.bsky.social piece. SiP was one of the most influential reads in my discovering comics!
My kiddo has a tiny towns project for daycare. We built @casabonitadenver.com using Crumbl boxes. The kid loves tape, scissors and Casa Bonita 🤷🏻♂️

I believe I posted that I took my kiddo to 1190 after my diagnosis. I loved my time in radio and I wanted to share it even if she’s still too young. This week the station finished prepping the secondary studio and slapped on a plaque with my name. I made so many mix CDs in this room in the 90s. 🥹🙏

I’d been hoarding transfers for GW24 and pulled the trigger a week early to address price changes assuming everyone is heading into similar transfers. Gvardiol, Sarr and J. Pedro out for Mykolenko, Mbeumo and Gakpo. Saved funds, 80pts on the week and back in the top 13k after a two-week tumble.

Some people just knock it out of the park and part of me wants to desperately tell them I’m dying and it really does actually mean everything in the world. But that seems weird and dramatic. Anyway, shout out to The Golden Tiki in Vegas tonight. My birthday weekend has been great so far.
