Not having auto-complete for usernames and hash tags on here only compounds the situation. As a result, I just start any post in the notes app if I'm still getting info together! Annoying!

After some research, a simple email/fax blast to other shops might be worth your while…include a redacted copy of the 8k quote and just say something like you need a quote for ‘only the legally obligated repairs to achieve inspection compliance’.

All of the non-emissions related ones I’ve seen are for blatant and simple safety stuff: lights, brakes, mirrors, bald tires, etc.

I’m REALLY surprised they can put a worn transmission on that list. What, rough shifting is a safety concern now?
