This is the first testing agreement that we have signed with Ming Yang Smart Energy and builds on years of experience of testing major new pieces of technology that have gone on to play big roles in the UK’s expansion of offshore wind.

F4OR is a unique programme that aims to galvanise companies within the UK supply chain with the tools they need to succeed in the offshore renewable energy sector. This regional programme is funded by The North East Combined Authority.

Our proposal to move forward with the design and preparation for a large scale mooring line test rig at our Floating Wind Innovation Centre (FLOWIC) in Aberdeen has also been supported with equal funding from the Energy Transition Zone Ltd (ETZ Ltd).

Equally funded by @thecrownestate.bsky.social and the Swansea Bay City Deal, the programme will see a minimum of 10 companies recieve targeted support to ensure they take advantage of new opportunities presented by the development of a new floating offshore wind industry in the Celtic Sea.

VDARE (Virtual Demonstration and Assessment for Robotic Environments) allows company to test, validate and accelerate the deployment of robotics in a range of simulated offshore wind environments.

The project is funded through Innovate UK's Smart Shipping Acceleration Fund and the OLTER Project.

@thecrownestate.bsky.social announced the £100,000 funding on the 8th July at the Senedd. Moreover, the Swansea City Bay Deal which is co-funded by Welsh and UK Government, will match The Crown Estate's contribution.
