Is higher education a public good, a personal investment, a combination of both? Governments need to decide and have universities funded accordingly. That is, assuming the government in question isn’t deliberately sabotaging its own universities, which some do.

A poll on Channel 12 News in Israel, one of the main news broadcasts: do you trust that the Israeli Gov’t is doing all it can to bring back the hostages in Gaza? 61% do not trust the gov’t, 34% do, 5% aren’t sure. Truly shocking numbers, and these are the results for long weeks now, not an outlier.
