Most developed countries define all their forests (& land generally) as "managed", which means carbon uptake is anthropogenic. (less clear on developing countries)

Does this matter for how net zero is defined? [YES]

I can't recommend highly enough to put an AirTag in your scientific shipment. I shipped a container from Iceland to Hawaiʻi in July, which was supposed to take a month. It still hasn't arrived. Along the way, the shipper has given misinformation about its location, but I could always tell.

I’m excited for Andy Kim to be a United States senator.
This picture (by AP’s Andy Harnik) is the indelible image of the last four years. It represents how the people we send to Washington are supposed to be caretakers for this precious, tenuous democracy we have. We should want officials who take that job so seriously they’re willing to do it literally.

30+ years ago, software was installed from floppy disks received in the mail. My computer science professor said one day our computers will call up a server and install updates overnight to our magneto-optical drives. I was incredulous.

Surely we’d be using solid state drives. 🙃

Look I never play this card but I studied German politics and the rise of fascism and this IS THAT. We have arrived at the end game. Not hyperbole or exaggeration this is THE EXACT LANGUAGE. Anyone who has studied this recognizes it like a meteorologist seeing a gathering hurricane
