Our president might want to ask his BFFs on SCOTUS how exactly one might go about prosecuting a former president for official acts conducted while in office.

Remove the profit and the fossils will remain fossils.
We are already locked-in to a return to a Pliocene climate - 3C hotter, sea level eventually ~20m higher

A return to an Eocene hothouse beckons, threatening oblivion

We have to stop burning fossil fuels NOW

Nearly the entire Canadian Arctic Archipelago recorded temperatures warmer than 5°C above the 1981-2010 baseline in October 2025. And as I shared yesterday, sea ice in the Baffin Bay is currently a record low for the date... Hudson Bay too (I'll share that next).

Losing my faith in justice in the US has been the worst and the most painful lesson of the last few years for me. Now I don't believe we'll ever see it.

All I can hope for is that someday we'll be able to repair the damage, but the vandals will go free.
Just a reminder that we could be living in an America in which Trump and his fellow conspirators are spending the rest of their lives in prison if we had serious politicians and a system that wasn’t hellbent on and designed toward self-destruction.

Exactly!
DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

“A credible pathway to phase out fossil fuels must be at the heart of any outcome here.”

With negotiations at COP30 reaching their crucial closing stages, there is a glaring gap in the current draft agreement: a roadmap away from fossil fuels.

Megan Weinraub didn't realize her Volkswagen T2 bus had survived the January Palisades fire, but a viral Associated Press photo changed that. Then VW reached out to her.

Prohibited activities include advising Chinese graduate students. For reference, a recent Georgetown report estimated 16% of STEM graduate students in the US are Chinese nationals.

This would take out entire fields at the knees, which is perhaps the point.
“The prohibited activities would include joint research, co-authorship on papers, and advising a foreign graduate student or postdoctoral fellow. The language is retroactive, meaning any interactions during the previous 5 years could make a scientist ineligible for future federal funding.”

Many use the word exponential without knowing what it actually means.

One thing that does increase exponentially is the amount of water the air can hold with every degree Celsius (+7%) of temperature increase.

This leads to both more (extreme) evaporation and precipitation.
