I really hope someone sat number 1 down and explained why it’s dumb to headbutt an official. I also hope that someone is showing Underwood pictures from the 11-on-11 view because he has people wide open downfield and he’s not standing tall in the pocket. #LetsGoBlue

2nd and long in the red zone run up the middle…3rd and 6 low percentage fade pattern…not loving the play calling early. OSU looks shook early. Would have been nice to get at least one TD before they find their footing. #LetsGoBlue

Third and eight out of a timeout wtf was that? It’s going to take more than that to beat OSU. #LetsGoBlue

Now that Carlos Alcaraz has dropped a couple of matches to Jannik Sinner as a blonde (counting the Six Kings match), Alcaraz has to lose the dye job, right? #ATP

Here are some questions I’d ask about “The #Mavs need to trade Anthony Davis” takes that are everywhere now:
1. Why would another GM trade for AD with 2 years on his contract after this one?
2. Who would pass AD on a physical?
3. Does Dallas have enough assets to get a team to waive a physical?

That Luka Doncic trade was so awful, I wonder if Dallas winds up firing Nico Harrison “for cause.” #NBA

Napheesa Collier with a Flagrant 2 foul on Cathy Engelbert but unfortunately for the commissioner, the #WNBA refs missed it.

I think we should all pump the brakes on this. Marileidy Paulino and Salwa Eid Naser pushed Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone today in a way that Femke Bol has never done. They have past victories of Sydney. Let’s not pretend that Paulino and Naser will just “fade into Bolivian.”

The Indiana Fever have had players walk out on them, they have had at least four players out for the season with injuries and another two players hurt and unavailable. No excuses, no ‘woe is me’ attitude. The Fever are in the #WNBA semifinals. Great effort by the players and HC Stephanie White.

The thing that was so scary about Alcaraz’s victory over Djokovic today is that Carlos was IMO far below his best level and dropped Novak in straight sets. I feel like Novak had chances to get back into this one in the second set breaker, but lost hope when it didn’t go his way. #usopen

Scheduling for Ben Shelton is such a catch-22. In order to stand the best chance of winning a major, Ben has to get his ranking up, so that he doesn’t run into Sincaraz until the semis.

Does the Malik Beasley news open the door for a Jonathan Kuminga sign-and-trade to the Pistons in exchange for Beasley to the Warriors on a 3-year deal?

Throughly enjoying #usopen mixed doubles. Really enjoyed watching Sara Errani out there. She is not just happy to be there, her intensity is that of someone who came to win. I hope we don’t have any injuries that might affect the singles draw, but I’m digging this so far.

Awesome watching Ben Shelton take down his first 1000 title. He could have gone away after blowing the mini break lead in the first set tiebreaker. Shelton never wavered, kept his cool and now has to feel really good heading into New York. #ATP #Tennis

I remember loving the fight Naomi Osaka showed in coming back from match point down to beat Garbiñe Muguruza and go on to win her 4th Slam in 2021.

In watching the final Osaka just dropped to the wonderful Victoria Mboko, I wondered if Osaka even likes tennis.

I’m not a prude and I’m not a pearl clutcher. But I should be able to watch the Sparks - Fever game with my young daughter without explaining what the object that landed on the court was. I mean, what are we doing? It’s not funny and you’re not accomplishing anything. #WNBA #GrowUp

Through 8 games of the #Wimbledon ladies, we are on Steffi Graf - Barbara Schett watch. Really don’t understand why Amanda Anisimova, one of the most aggressive players on tour came out kicking in first serves. Has to be tough playing Iga Swiatek for the first time and the 1st Slam final too.

1) Djokovic - Sinner has some real Ali - Holmes vibes.

2) The “your time is over, it’s my time now” wheel keeps turning:

Sinner to Djokovic
Djokovic to Federer
Federer to Sampras
Sampras to McEnroe

3) I would watch a senior tour with Federer, Nadal, Murray and Djokovic

Between the Dame Lillard buyout and the rumored negotiations surrounding a potential Bradley Beal buyout, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the amnesty clause make a comeback. #NBA

As long as ESPN is just going to keep trotting Stephen A. Smith out there, I feel like there’s an SNL skit opportunity to have SAS provide color commentary on Wimbledon matches, the British Open golf tournament, figure skating championships, equestrian events, rhythmic gymnastics…

The decision to leave Temi Fagbenle unprotected in the expansion draft was a head scratcher at the time. After DeWanna Bonner signed w/ the #Fever, the thinking was that there’s probably too much overlap to keep both of them. It has to cut that they let Temi go and only got 9 games out of DB. #WNBA

It might be time for ABC to flex out of these Chicago Sky games. And it might be time for Chicago to start trading players for picks. The double big lineup that they run out there just cannot get out on the perimeter to defend the three. #WNBA
