Communist and Irish Republican. Fighting for the liberation of people and planet from capital. 26+6=1.
@1araquinn.bsky.social posted this video on TikTok. The audience is obviously the US but change a few words and it could be liberals anywhere the world over.

Another great video from commiespontex on TikTok.

A sharp and necessary argument from @commiespontex on TikTok. We must resist the trap of moralism and insist instead on the true ground of struggle. I had to speed it up very slightly to hit the 3 minute limit.

Sweet suffering Jesus… what a nightmare. This single image might have just strangled forty years of revolutionary optimism in my heart. A third path to keep hope alive! (Irish specific)

Greta Thunberg was useful to the liberal press when she criticized governments in abstract terms. The moment she named capitalism as the engine of climate collapse, and backed the Palestinian cause, the coverage dried up. She stopped being a harmless child mascot and became a threat to power.

Only Marx, master of all three circuits of capital, could stop them.

I’m honing in on this post because I see far too many third-way and status quo Labour supporters wheeling out these same muddled lines, as the increasingly right-wing Labour sinks in popularity. For the love of God, drop the American liberal playbook. All it’s bringing us is more political nihilism.

And Starmer can’t help but try to capture some of, what I can only assume Labour believes are, those labour voting xenophobe holdouts.

Could it have been implemented as in economically feasible? Yes! As in politically feasible? I’m not sure. Public ownership is popular in the UK so I’m sure it’s possible. But even if it wasn’t it doesn’t make those economist un-credible for suggesting it would be beneficial policy.

Corbyn’s labour got over 500k more votes than Starmer’s 2024 labor in 2019 and over 3million more in 2017. Public ownership is massively popular in the UK. You’ve bought into the idea that we need to move to the right to win. That has hurt us in the long run every time.
