I realised I’ve not tested Jurl for SNES on actual hardware, it works well - aside from the known bugs that stop it being complete #RetroGaming

The DK Tronics clothed spectrum is working ready for RetroFest 2025, how did i fix it so quickly? I cheated of course, replaced the inner Speccy with a working one, I suspect the original is going to take some time to fix, but I will

My love affair with the DK Tronics keyboard case is fast diminishing. The Speccy inside is quite broken - I don’t blame it for that - but it renders the expansion port almost useless and the keys are horrible

Well, the fairly obvious answer was to open it - we have a 5.25” PC disk - I like the way that the ball is stored on its own

Looking inside is interesting, firstly it’s a model 2 spectrum, so probably isn’t working. The DK keyboard connects using a piece of PCB - so it’s probably not going to work with a normal membrane again. The original PSU is quite loosely attached to the base. Obviously I won’t be using that

First - let’s get the stuff that people actually expect out of the way. An Epoch Cassette Vision with Big Sports 12 and Battle Vader. I’m a huge fan of Epoch and constantly shout about how their place in the history of gaming is lost (see my videos of course) #RetroGaming

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to step back to this project - largely because it’s pricey to make the boards, but also because I wasn’t entirely sure where I went wrong with the last board, everything seemed to check out.

Early days for a new port of Jurl (still haven't worked out how to do sprites properly) I suspect fanatics of this particular platform can probably work out what it is from the palette
