That’s the beauty! She needs to learn FOR REAL what her belief that “anyone can be redeemed” means in practice. The Vees can’t just give gift baskets and say sorry any more than Heaven can. Redemption means confrontations between abusers and victims, and not every one can be resolved neatly.

I agree so hard. Re the second part: Redemption doesn’t erase your crimes - but NOTHING would. Are we really saying there’s no way back from fucking up? All that does (see: Hell) is make people think there’s no point in trying.

I think one thing she does is keep reminding us not to trust appearances. We didn’t even know she had teeth until s2, and that couldn’t have been accidental. Plus, those teeth are on the opposite end from where you’d expect. The danger isn’t coming from the expected place.
