Yeah, to a close colleague. This is more of a group project with loose acquaintances.

Specialities like legal and medicine are typically less like that - and interact more like their civilian counterparts.

Broad generalizations, of course...

Calling people out on where they fell short of regulations and expectations, so that they can improve. Because their mistakes can cost lives. Holding others accountable. And typically not caring if you hurt their feelings in the process.

At least, in operational units. +

I mean, officers and senior enlisted, especially higher ranking ones, can speak professionally, aka much more politically. But day-to-day, it sounds like "hey, man, you screwed the pooch on that maneuver. You did this, this, and this wrong. The regulations say you should have done it this way." +
