@bas.ac.uk is there a list of BAS staff/scientists here on Bluesky? It’s always fun to follow the latest research, particularly since I’m writing my MSc thesis with a colleague of yours.

Insightful article about admitting when we need help. I’m glad people are becoming more open about struggling, particularly in professional circles where we feel we need to be 100% all the time.

🐧 Do you love the polar regions?
🗺️ Do you love maps?
🛰️ Do you love beautiful aerial pictures?
🧮 Do you love well-presented data?

We heartily recommend you follow the BAS Mapping and Geographic Information Centre, who are known internally (and appropriately) as ✨ MAGIC ✨
Hello 👋

We are the Mapping and Geographic Information Centre (MAGIC) at the British Antarctic Survey.

We produce maps of the polar regions, survey wildlife colonies and our stations, and provide the latest sea ice information through custom platforms.

Here's a quick intro to our work!

@magic.bas.ac.uk do you have any cool maps of Antarctica I could print as a poster? I’ve looked online and I’m quite disappointed with what options there are.

I’m doing my MSc thesis with your colleagues from @bas.ac.uk and it would be lovely to have a huge map of the continent on my wall 😊
