Ceterum autem censeo russiam esse delendam.
The fascist regimes that were born from the abyss of WWI relied on millions of men who fought and killed in the trenches. The current attempted remake is staffed by doughy failsons who are mad that their doordashed burrito has become lukewarm.
Trump's people want a lot of bad things that will make America an authoritarian regime. But they haven't succeeded and it would take a while for them even to end democracy, much less build fascism.

So act as if you live in a democracy - because you do.

The End.

Russian fascism is engaged in an existential civilisational battle against liberal democracy, with the Ukrainian working class acting as the first line of defence for Europe.

Material support for the Ukrainian armed forces is class solidarity. Arming Kyiv is anti-fascist praxis.

This question should be asked a lot more often, but it's apparent neither the US nor Israel is interested in the answer.
Regime falls, then what? Sovereign imperatives, above all Iran’s survival, awaits the next group in power, democratic or otherwise. What makes Israel or the US think that Iran’s domestic politics will become more conciliatory towards either country after this?
Unless Israel changes what it's targeting in days ahead, this is a regime-change strike with just enough targeting of nuclear infrastructure so Netanyahu can depict it as an act of preemptive self-defense. For the operation to succeed, I think the regime has to fall.

Apparently, because it’s 2020 again, I need to start a thread on police violence targeting journalists in the US.

So, here we go:

1. Australian journalist Lauren Tomasi shot by police officer with less lethal munition.

During his homily, delivered in Italian, Leo XIV said that Christians must serve a world that is often hostile to their beliefs.

Really, any employer who can credibly promise to provide a job to someone (and put up security equal to some number of months in pay) should be able to bring anyone without a criminal record over the border to work.

It is time for Trump to put up or shut up in Court.

A FEDERAL JUDGE said “no evidence before the court connects Abrego Garcia to MS-13 or any criminal organization.” No one is vouching for one man. We are standing up for EVERYONE’s right to due process under the Constitution.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Trump is breaking the law and ignoring the Constitution.

We don’t need to dress it up, we don’t need to link it to big explainers why that’s bad. Everyone knows that breaking the law and ignoring the Constitution is bad.

Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.
