Cancipin may have been published almost a decade ago but it's still very relevant and gives lots of insights on what could go wrong with a massive use of Al in daily life, even if regulated by the gov - no, even more so if it's regulated and rolled out by the gov

Building cities around cars was/is a huge mistake that ripples out in catastrophic ways. I cycled nearly every day for ten years & it was often scary. Biking itself is “safe” but the people in cars around you as a cyclist treat you like an expendable pest. Cars are the danger.
I pay for roads too.

I follow a blind woman on social media, and she talks a lot about how much she hates "smart" products. Not only do they often ditch buttons she can easily feel for flat, glass touchscreens, but when she loses wifi, suddenly, she can't turn on the stove.
Gimme dumb appliances any day.

It's so funny because a lot of these things are not "AI", just automation that usually already existed and they rebranded it for more $ to say it gives you more value. Now they're gonna have to admit they lied, or remove functionality and put prices back down.
There is no benefits to AI in my coffee maker, and no matter what you do, there never will be benefits to AI in my coffee maker. Hope this helps.
