And presumably specifically a reference to the Salem’s Lot film from last year where he plays the monster!

(Beyond the distinct and unique horror of having to wear the Thad outfit to begin with, of course.)

We can’t believe we have to wait however long to see our Seekers and Schemers again, but we can’t wait to see our Soldiers tonight. Is it 7pm Pacific Time yet?
November 7, 2025 at 2:05 AM
That wraps up our combat highlights, but stay tuned this week for a write-up of what we know about everyone’s builds coming out of the overture! Also, separately, our running Brennan Bird Counter total has risen to 40. 🕊️

Vaelus also led the episode in number of Nat 1s with three, although we had an all-around impressive(/frightening) showing on that front with an episode total of 8.
November 7, 2025 at 2:05 AM
Also worth noting is Vaelus’s necrotic resistance! Vaelus took 23 points of necrotic damage in this fight—a number that would otherwise more than double (accounting for rounding) to a potentially outcome-changing *49* points of damage against a character with a max HP of 31.

We also saw our first death of the campaign in this episode. Our leader in damage taken this fight was Occtis @alexanderward.bsky.social, who took more than double his max HP (23) for a deadly total of 50, all while wearing a very handsome pink polo shirt.
November 7, 2025 at 2:05 AM
He, and @matthewmercer.bsky.social, more than deserved to get this campaign's very first HDYWYTD.

First, a round of applause for our top damage dealer, Julien, who dealt out an impressive 107 points of damage (at level 3!)—all while staying on his feet with a max HP of 39, having taken 46 points of damage and 10 points of healing.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the rest of this episode’s combat stats, though, because there were some seriously impressive showings.

🖤☠️🖤 Don’t know about you, but we felt absolutely *hollow* with fear. 🖤☠️🖤

At least the stakes were the same, though! Wait—
November 7, 2025 at 2:05 AM
That’s about 15:23 per round at the Palazzo (including interludes with Occtis), and a comparatively leisurely 17:52 per round at the bar fight.
November 7, 2025 at 2:05 AM
That 36-minute bar fight covered two rounds of combat against 12 enemies, two of whom were killed and ten of whom retreated. The fight at the Palazzo, meanwhile, covered nine rounds of combat against 14 enemies, 8 of which were killed.
November 7, 2025 at 2:05 AM
Our good ol’ bar fight lasted a little under 36 minutes, whereas the Palazzo Davinos Circle of Death Occtis Murder Spectacular lasted 2 hours, 18 minutes, and 31 seconds.

No, but actually, @aabria.bsky.social made some good points. Let’s look at a side-by-side:

And we now have our table of soldiers!
October 24, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Twenty-eight items were exchanged, including sherry, paint, and a very fancy very long vest.
October 24, 2025 at 1:28 AM
We learned of and/or met 20 new NPCs, including an intriguing mention of Ksha'aravi, the High Prince of Demonkind and the Shadow of Suffering, and a mysterious picture of a lost lover.
October 24, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Vaelus was our top damage-dealer with 31 points of damage. (We love you, level 3.)
