Inspiring and equipping you to build your regenerative dreams while restoring the environment and increasing biodiversity.
This isn't about any one technique or material, it's about using what we have on hand to stitch the land back together on its contours, increasing time seeds and nutrients stay on your allotment. #ecosystem #Earth #permaculture #waterretention youtube.com/shorts/5_9pz...

Haven't posted anything in forever so here's the run down on what's up with the farm right now, this time of year, and the spookiness of climate change - though an extended growing season is welcome, what's the real cost locally and globally? #farm #garden www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Eew...

We do so much in the garden, but if we began to cultivate ourselves and our relationships in the same way, so much would change and quickly, for the better. #regeneration #community #solidarity #healing

Save your desk space from clutter and your laptop from spills - or elecate your monitor - computer goes on top, plug in keyboard and mouse on the bottom. Still take your computer out when you go but don't sacrifice it to home bound mishaps! #computer #desk #laptop #monitor #stand

Sometimes just gotta stop and take in the serenity of the moment. As the warmth draws in to a close and we all bundle up to get cozy, so many projects always seem like they come "next year", but having a place to stay warm in the winter and garden in the summer is precious.

Here's an amazing breakdown of agroforestry and its benefits. We should all be looking into this for our own survival, if not the good of the planet altogether. youtu.be/njsC4kKFO3s?...

I needed a place to pile and mix my various materials for new #planting #soil so I took apart this dumb pallet fence I made years ago and made it into a corral for making some delicious breakfast cereal for the Earth. That's dried out stalks of #comfrey as decomposable screen..

I finally made this shelf organizer to make sense of the crazy scene with my various #recyclables in this "zone of accumulation" as it's known in #permaculture. Here is after, before and construction progress. Let me know if you want any help with similar projects!

Proud owner here of several bags now of blackberry #biochar. Terra Preta as it's known in the Amazon supercharges #soil #microbes and #invertebrates by providing plenty of surface area from micro cavities caused by the burning and cooling and piling (repeat, repeat..) process..

So good that #California is finally reintroducing beavers, the world’s favourite ecosystem engineers, which is bringing benefits that are both planned & unexpected

My 3d #food island in my little #pond is doing fabulously. The water level keeps dropping though, so it might have a leak after all, or deer keep coming for a drink in the night. The #plants are doing great, pulling water up entirely through capillary action.

Just made some more cedar garden planter boxes; these ones are 3×1.5×1 - get your overwintered seeds planted just in time to soak up the rain. Baby kale and lettuce can persist even through the frost and snow if they are started together. $60 each or $110 for both. #raisedbeds

Made these 2x2x1 #cedar raised bed #garden planter boxes. Untreated cedar combined with dipped Phillips head screws as fasteners combine into a robust long term investment that you can easily move if you need to change up your garden plans. $50 each or both for $90. #raisedbeds

These are my #nanoripariums aka "living bouquets" that I start with pathos, curly willow, peace lily, pond water, snails and some other friends. They are a tiny #ecosystem for your desk or windowsill, just top up the water and make sure they get just the right amount of light. $5-10 dep on size.

I was thinning out the larger ones of the mixed #beets in the #garden and wound up with a little bit of a #harvest. The roots are small yet, but the #greens are amazing! Sent some along with my friend who does #farmersmarket ..

Doing some #ecosystem #restoration and #permaculture work on this burm we put at the edge of the walkway to rebuild the hill while supporting rich #biodiversity and #habitat. We are keeping and even improving the fertility of the #soil rather than let it wash away with #erosion.

Our #chicken baby had her own #babychicks - 10 to be precise! Plus another one, but she had made a calculated move to abandon that egg before hatch, so we incubated it on our own. Now we will probably hand-raise that one like we did with "Cheep-Cheep" here.. the cycle continues!

Had a reliable customer ask me if I could build a #Bonsai box - i thought well heck why not, and I'll find a way to do it with my usual 1x4 #cedar fenceboard... haven't quoted her a price yet... what would you pay for this as a bonsai aficionado? It's 24in by 15in by 4.5in.

Even though when they are grown out, the #chickens avoid the #potatoes, they can't resist some fresh dirt to try and fluff their butts with dust. So now i am trying to put my seed spuds between thick bark shingles from my firewood, which protects and spaces them at the same time!
